TRACKING THE INCIDENCE & PREVALENCE OF SARS-COV-2 INFECTION IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

How did the Bay Area gather the information needed to keep us safe from COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021?
It’s called TRACK COVID, and it’s a joint clinical study headed by UCSF, Stanford and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General, in collaboration with local public health departments. They have been busy tracking a randomized sampling of populations across 6 Bay Area counties with a goal of providing real-time data to local decision makers to help inform a safe step down from shelter in place. The study concluded on March 31st, and we will be among the first to get a glimpse of the data analysis being performed! Find out about this fascinating project and other projects involved at tracking COVID from George Rutherford, MD (co-PI) and Jenna Bollyky (Investigator).
